Experience the joy of weekly rehearsals and shared musical experiences with other cellists of all levels and abilities from around Melbourne.

Discover interesting and beautiful repertoire written and arranged for cello ensembles. Come join us and be part of the fun. Individual Ensembles will be confirmed and allocated once there are a minimum of 6 players per group.

Please note - ensemble starting times are subject to change depending on initial interest levels and availability. Final ensemble times will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Kids and Young Teens

  • Little Bows and Strings - Kids

    BEGINNER CELLO ENSEMBLE

    Approximate playing level: AMEB Cello Preliminary - Grade 2 or equivalent.

    Reading notes in the first position, recognising slurs, bowings, time signatures and accidentals, plus some knowledge of basic one-octave scales are strongly recommended before joining this ensemble.

  • Rising Stars Cello Ensemble - Kids and Young Teens

    EMERGING CELLO ENSEMBLE

    Approximate playing level: AMEB Cello Grade 3 - 6 or equivalent.

    IMPORTANT UPDATE: Rising Stars will merge with the Piatti Ensemble in Term 3 2024. Rehearsing from 2.45-3.45pm.

  • Start Up Cello Ensemble - Adults/Upper Teens

    BEGINNER CELLO ENSEMBLE

    Approximate playing level: AMEB Cello Preliminary - Grade 2 or equivalent.

    ADVANCED CELLO ENSEMBLE

    Approximate playing level: AMEB Cello Grade 7+ or equivalent.

    Rehearsing on Saturdays from 1.30 - 2.30pm

Fees for all ensembles (except Little Bows and Strings):

$280 per term.

Little Bows and Strings:

$240 per term

All ensembles will run for 60 minutes weekly ,except for Little Bows and Strings which will run for 45 minutes.

Please let us know if you are interested in commencing beginner cello group lessons for both adults and children. If there is enough interest, the Melbourne Community Cellists will consider forming new groups in the future. Register your interest now via the contact us form.
