All Ensembles are 8 x 60 minute rehearsals, except for the Little Bows and Strings.

The Little Bows and strings Ensemble are 8 x 45 minute rehearsals.

Rehearsals are on Saturdays during school term time.

Please note - ensemble starting times are subject to change, depending on initial interest levels and availability. Final ensemble times will be confirmed as soon as a minimum number of 6 players per ensemble are filled.

Feel free to arrive up to 30 minutes before your rehearsal time or stay afterwards for a cuppa and chat to the other cellists and families in your ensemble. There is a kitchenette, tables and chairs set up in the front area as you enter the church.

Keeping the kitchenette clean as a courtesy to others using the facilities afterwards is always appreciated. Your ensemble is free to organise morning tea if you choose to organise through your WhatsApp groups. Otherwise there will be basic coffee/tea and milk facilities available.

Cellists will be able to unpack their instruments in one of the smaller rooms.

Always be respectful of keeping the noise down while others are rehearsing in the hall.

Parents are asked NOT to sit in the rehearsal hall when the ensembles are rehearsing. Parents and friends are free to wait in the lobby outside the hall.

Children who are not in an ensemble are not to be left on their own at the rehearsal venue at any time.

Participants can enter the rehearsal hall no earlier than 15 minutes before their rehearsal time. Please be mindful that there will be a very quick turnover time of 15 minutes between ensembles, so prompt set-up and pack up in the hall is appreciated.

Doors to the rehearsal hall will be closed while ensembles are rehearsing.

Rehearsals are scheduled for 45 minutes each with a 15 minute changeover time allocated between rehearsals.

Please enter the rehearsal hall no earlier than 15 minutes before your rehearsal time in order to set up and be tuned.

Once your rehearsal has finished please leave the hall promptly so that the next group can set up.

Cello cases are to be left outside the rehearsal hall in one of the smaller rooms so that there is minimal disruption to the current rehearsal.

Rehearsals and lessons will start on time so latecomers will need to be quiet on their arrival.

Family and friends are warmly invited to sit in and listen quietly to the Open Rehearsals during Terms 1, 2 and 3. Open Rehearsals will take place in the Fifth Week of these terms.

Individual music parts will be handed out to players in the first rehearsal of every term and over the course of the term. Players must keep their music in a folder and bring it to every rehearsal.

We will have an informal concert at the end of the year for all ensembles.

Occasionally, other performing opportunities may arise throughout the year. 

The ensembles will take place every scheduled rehearsal day so individual absences cannot be refunded.

Please send prior notice if you are to be away for any rehearsal or concert.

In the event of the music director being sick, rehearsals will either be rescheduled if possible, or fees for that week will be credited back to students towards the following term.

Fees are paid prior to each term. Renewals must be paid before the new term has started to secure your spot. Players are enrolled into the ensemble once term fees have been paid and the term has commenced.

For all ensembles (except the Little Bows and Strings)

$280 per term

Cello Ensembles are warmly encouraged to create their own WhatsApp group to discuss practise, all things cello, catch-ups.

Ensemble allocation will be confirmed when there are a minimum of 6 players registered for that group. Ensemble allocation is at the discretion of Sharon based on information provided in the registration form.
